Fall 2021 With the start of a new academic year and as many orchestras return to the stage, Michael looks forward to orchestral, chamber, Baroque, and Broadway productions throughout the region.

He is very excited to join the faculty at Western Kentucky University as violin professor for the Fall 2021 semester.


May 2020
Beginning a new studio is never easy - particularly when the first year is entirely online! Michael is now violin/viola faculty at the Louisville Academy of Music!

March 2020
Michael will be playing the Berwick Academy as part of the Oregon Bach Festival this Summer, in addition to many other performances and education positions, near and far! postponed to 2022

September 2018
A lot has happened with very few updates! As of 2018-2019 Michael will be serving at Director of the Suzuki Studies Program at the University of Louisville. He is excited to begin the Louisville Viola Choir which will feature viola students from throughout the region.

Michael will be joining the Lexington Chamber Orchestra and the Carmel Symphony as principal viola for their concerts this season, in addition to chamber music appearances and several programs with Bourbon Baroque.


June 2018
Michael is excited to attend the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin Conservatory, inspiring, education, and fun!

September 2017

Adding an additional educational role, Michael will be joining the faculty at the University of Louisville School of Music - diving into all things "Alto."

July 2017

Concerts are yet again in and around Louisville and beyond! They feature a diverse combination of chamber music, pops and classical, fusion, and Baroque music (of course!) to fill out the calendar. The Schedule page will be updates soon.

Michael is thrilled to be taking on several education roles, coordinating projects and teaching for the Weisberg Program - bringing Suzuki style lessons to local elementary schools and taking on the position as director of the Louisville Suzuki Strings Institute which takes place at the University of Louisville each summer. He has also joined the board of the Louisville Chamber Music Society, bringing world-class chamber ensembles to the Louisville stage.

January 2017
Michael's schedule has been updated with a lot of exciting performances coming up including Bourbon Baroque in NYC, a solo recital in Louisville, KY, chamber and orchestral music as part of the Southern Illinois Music Festival and much much more!

May 2016 
Completed!!! A second Master of Music degree in String Pedagogy and serving as a teaching assistant in the Graduate String Quartet and to the viola studio. Throughout this time he worked closely with the viola studio, chamber music ensembles, and orchestra the University of Louisville. He looks forward to continuing to teach at U of L and to building a strong viola community.

January 2016

Michael will begin teaching at Western Middle School for the Visual and Performing Arts. He is very excited to be working with the many talented students there!
October 2015
Michael will be joining the faculty at the University of Louisville for the Suzuki Strings Fall Workshop October 10-11

He will be teaching viola technique classes and masterclasses.


June 2015
Michael will be starting this summer working as Assistant in the Suzuki Strings Institute at the University of Louisville and will be joining again to perform at the faculty recital. It is an incredible privilege to work with such talented faculty and such marvelous students!

March 2015
The Graduate String Quartet performed as part of the Macauley Chamber Music Competition, winning first prize in the college division. A performance on WUOL 90.5 FM will take place LIVE Wednesday, April 1 at noon!

January 2015
Michael will be returning to the University of Louisville School of Music, pursuing a MM in string pedagogy, serving as teaching assistant in the viola studio, and performing with the Graduate String Quartet.
